Influenced by Houston but roots in the Rio Grande Valley, "Z" is an up and coming steady moving through Texas' music scene. From the 956 to 281, Z gave me the task to visually capture what his journey was about.
Taking his first step into the music industry, the first cover was titled "The Change", belting with emotion throughout the album I knew an important part was the journey and what it looked like. I used polaroid photos from his recording process, capturing both the growth and emotion, encapsulating it in a form of a memory, giving the consumer a reason to look back from the bottom.
Experienced and ready to show you more, we enter "The Wildcard" era, racing through life, never looking back, a true wildcard doesn't follow the rules. This album was "Z" coming into himself and assuming the form of a hip-hop artist. For this cover I choose to go with more of an insight on who Z is. A still life of his everyday essentials, we get a view of his habits and motivations. Foot on the gas, The Wildcard ep is a fast paced step in a new direction.
